Watching this ish reminds me of one I was a younger cat with much better joints. I can’t do much without hurting myself now but damn does seeing videos like this really back memories bombing around the city skating with my boys getting chased by security guards. Good memories.

Copley Fountain Skateboarding

A montage of skating copley fountain in Boston Ma. This was all shot one day in spring of 05. I wanted to show the amount of skateboarding that this place has seen over the years. People have been skating copley for years and will continue to skate it for years. This is just a slice of what one single afternoon could be like when looking through the right eyes. The music is by Take Seven, the track “The red step step”. Shot and edited by Elliott Vecchia.

I remember in the 90′s at some point I used to skate the fountain at Copley as much as possible. You couldn’t go down there with out bumping into some Boston legends like Robbie Gangemi and Charlie Wilkins. Those days were amazing. We would skate all friggin day, get chased by a few cops and then be back after we circled the block on our boards. Some of the best days of my life. I found this video someone put together that is pretty nasty.

Enjoy.

Charles River Skatepark

I grew up my whole life skateboarding. I used to ride for Vans and some local skateshops but it has been a while since i’ve been on a board. Still have a huge love for the game though and once in a while if I have enough beers I will hop on my old deck. I am really excited to see this skatepark going up. When I was younger skateboarding was so frowned up and now with areas like the Charles River Skatepark going up I think it is a great thing for the city. I will def. get a new skateboard once this bad is built and probably throw out my back but its all good. The love ie fierce and a pinched disk is worth it.

Old School Boston Skateboarding

If you rode a skateboard in Boston 15 years ago than you will remember skateboarding the fountain at Copley square. Hands down the best place to ride at the time. You could show up and there would be 45 kids skating and just having a good time. The fountain ledges where not all banged up back then and slid and grinded amazingly. My friends and I would go down and bump into guys like Panama Dan and Robbie Gangemi to just name a few. Undercover cops would occasionally jump out from a Buick and grab the first skater they could get their little cop hands on. Those were the days. I found this old footage of Robbie Gangemi tearing it up in the city. If only I was 15 again.
